I had gone through your book very quickly ... couldn't
keep it down ... courtesy the kind of content - screenwriting
is something I'm indulging in, and due to the quality of the
content, I think it's worth every penny, simply as it captures
the views of leading film people and puts it across.
It gives an insight into what these established people feel
and how they work. Another good thing I liked was the mix
of the interviewees - from parallel to mainstream cinema,
and importantly, of people like Vishal Bhardwaj who are trying
to bridge the same. It was interesting to note the conflicting
opinions of the people at times, but that again is the strength
- you realise that all sorts can co-exist! I really liked
the article by Maithali Rao on 'adaptation'; views that i
strongly relate to. That was another aspect well-covered -
adapting a story/novel into screenplay.
I am grateful to you for bringing out such a book. Hope many
more will follow!
Also, it was a nice touch on your part to dedicate it to Prabhat
Chitra Mandal.

'Views & Thoughts on Scriptwriting' is one such book
which makes us realise that we needed this kind of 'textbook'
on cinema, especially Indian cinema. We hardly have any book
of this sort.
It gives fair insight of scriptwriting
for Indian cinema and therefore it is a MUST for all those who
want to be scriptwriters, directors and technicians.

Indian Film Acdemy has done a great job by bringing out
a book on scriptwriting which can be very aptly described
as 'The Text Book on Scriptwriting'.

to more and more books, specially on Indian Film Making.
